The Las Vegas IWJG show on June 13 & 14 was very well attended. Prices were still holding with buyers being very selective. This time of the year there are many shows and events in Las Vegas including the watch and jewelry show which was well attended along with the JCK show.
Business overall is not projected to do real well for the rest of the year. With inflation cutting into the consumers pocket book. Interest rates are projected to continue to climb for the next year; this is not good for business.
What’s Hot and What’s Not
The overall hight-end watch market is in a pause. Rolex current production Daytona SS 116500 which was selling in the high $30,000 range have showed some weakness. A clean Rolex Day-Date gents yellow gold President 18038 had hit a high of $13,000 to $15,000 but now is in the $8,500 to $9,000 in dealer to dealer market.
At this time the high-end vintage collectable market condition is very important. Watches that are over polished with high wear are very difficult to sell. You need to be very careful in this changing market.
