What’s Hot and What’s Not January

The demand for Rolex watches continues to be strong. With simulus money in the pipeline, this quarter should be great for business. In my 40 years experience I have never seen a market like this. Cartier dealers are reporting excellent sales with many models on back order. Even with the strong market many pre owned watches are very hard to sell. Just to name a few: Baume & Mercier, Bell & Ross, Ernest Benz, Frederique Constant, Cuervo Y Sobrinos, Ebel, Eterna, Gerard Genta, Girald-Perregaux, Graham, Movado, Franck Muller, Parmigiani, Rado, Montblanc, and Alain Silberstein.

The Business Corner

The IWJG had a watch show in Orlando on Martin Luther King Day. The attendance to the show was small with many people unable or unwilling to travel. Sales were reported good for a small show. Dealers should try to support them as they are an important part of our industry.

Let’s hope that the new President does not shut the country down more than it is. We need to open up the country. Christmas sales were reported to be strong. People who are working are spending money on watches and jewelry.
